Anton's Nature Life Bookstore Commercial

We had some technical difficulty with Anton's raw footage video, something even Steven Speilberg has had to contend with, I'm sure. :)
But, nonetheless, here is Anton's commercial.

Box tops for Education

Boy, do we have characters!

Students, as a writing exercise, created their own characters starting from: was it a boy or girl, what color hair and eyes, what made them special, what special talents did they have, etc.
Benny wrote about a boy named Bobby. This has really excited the kids and they wanted to skip PE and continue writing! And they love PE!

Joshua's Commercial for an iPod player

Here is Josh's commercial that he wrote and did a story board for. He and Benny are the actors.

Hi it’s Benny. On my commercial I was giving up on it because I thought it was not going to be horrible but Mr. Hales told me that it was going to be great. And it did. I already got two compliments!

Benny's Lightening Wheels!

Benny wrote and produced his commercial for a remote-controled car called Lightening Wheels. With the help of Mr. Fenton, he added a special effect. The kids all used iMovie for their commercials. He used the Toys R Us logo to show where Lightening Wheels is available.

Griselda's Commercial

Griselda wrote a commercial for Butterfinger with a girl making a new friend and sharing her candy. Griselda and Benny star in this one.

CJ's Kit Kat Commercial

CJ wrote and did a story board about a student working hard on at TAKS test and being rewarded with a Kit Kat candy bar.
CJ is the student. Josh plays the teacher. Josh also ran camera for the parts that he was not in. That's Benny shaking his hips in the later scene.

We have finished our first set of radio commercials! Click on each to hear the student's spot (spot is radio lingo for commercial...) :)

We will be doing a TV commercial and with a little luck, we'll put together a news story and with even more luck, a class newspaper!

Mr. Hales Advertising Agency

Today we began our advertising agency. Having spent 20 years in radio and TV I have written and produced 100's of commercials. Writing a :30 commercial packs a lot of information in a short space so the students have to sharpen their writing skills.
When we get finished writing, the students will record their radio commercials and we will post them here on the web page.
After we complete our radio commercials, we will work on writing and producing a television commercial which we will also place here.
